Something's shifting
Nov 11, 2024I've been buzzing with so much excitement ...
Firstly, I wanted to check in—did you catch the exciting news in yesterday’s email about the Build Your Own Break personal retreats? I’ve been buzzing with so much excitement about these! These gorgeous mini-retreats are designed to give you a personalised, soul-nourishing escape right here at my Sanctuary by the Sea. Places are super limited, so if you’re keen to lock in one of the dates, get in touch and we can chat about which time works best for you. I’d love to help you create a break that is exactly what your heart and soul need.🌸 You can contact me here:
Now, onto this week’s theme—it’s all about the seasons and cycles of life. Just like the earth moves through its seasons, we also go through our own cycles. Personally, I’ve been in a huge seasonal shift lately moving from Canberra (where I’ve lived for over 40 years!) to my beautiful new home by the sea. This move feels like a blend of Autumn and Spring—I’m releasing and letting go of the old, while also stepping into fresh, exciting beginnings. Isn’t it amazing how endings and beginnings have a way of flowing into each other so naturally?
On the topic of embracing change, I’ve also been working on a really special project — creating a labyrinth on our property. It’s been so beautiful! I’ve been sharing the journey over on socials and if you haven’t seen it yet, feel free to check it out here or click on the social button at the bottom of the newsletter.
I’ve loved labyrinths for years. The first time I experienced one was during a silent retreat, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Labyrinths are all about meditation and reflection, which is probably why I’m so drawn to them. They help me connect to myself in a way that feels so grounding. When we moved here, I knew I had to create one, and I’m so happy to say, it’s done! I put the finishing touches on it a few days ago, and it feels sooooo good!
Building it has been such a beautiful and powerful experience. It’s like I’ve physically created something that reflects my own inner journey. As I placed each stone, I was reminded of the cycles of life—letting go of the old while welcoming in the new. There’s something magical about the process of building this sacred space—it feels like a moving meditation, helping me honour where I’ve been, where I am now, and where I’m going next.
Just like life, a labyrinth mirrors the seasons we go through. Sometimes, you feel close to your centre, and other times, you’re wandering a bit further from it. But every step, every twist and turn, is part of the journey. That’s how life works too, don’t you think? We go through periods of growth, rest, release, and renewal, and every single one of those phases is necessary to build the life we truly want.
Regardless of where you are in your journey, here are a few questions that might help you embrace the season of life you're in:
1 Thing to Heal the Past
- As you reflect on the season of life you’re in, what lingering belief or emotional pattern are you ready to release?
- How has it shaped you, and how can letting it go create space for something more aligned with who you are becoming?
1 Thing to Live in the Present
- What is this current cycle of life asking of you?
- How can you honour where you are right now and bring a sense of peace or gratitude to this moment, knowing it’s part of your journey?
1 Thing to Create the Future of Your Dreams
- If your heart had no fear or limitations, what bold move would it ask you to make as you step into this new beginning?
- How can you take a meaningful step toward that vision, trusting that the future you desire is already unfolding?
Take a little time to reflect on these questions and remember — just like the cycles of life, you’re exactly where you need to be right now. Trust the process, trust the timing, and allow yourself to flow with the seasons of your life.
And if you ever fancy wandering through my labyrinth and soaking up the magic, why not make it part of your Build Your Own Break retreat? It’s the perfect excuse to carve out some time just for you! You can check out the details here:🌸
